Tea Tree (Theier)

Description

Tea tree (Melaleuca) is a shrub or small tree with needle-like leaves. It grows best in swampy/marshy soils and it can grow up to 20 feet in height and is naturally found in Australia.  

• The aboriginal people of  Australia, have used the leaves of tea tree oil as an alternative for tea which led to naming the tree “tea tree”.   It is now cultivated as plantations to produce essential oils through the distillation of leaves.  
• Steam distilled from the fragrant, green, leaves of the Australian Melaleuca plant, Tea Tree essential oil is admired for its fresh aroma, antiseptic, and skin-soothing benefits. 
• Now tea tree oil has become one of the most popular essential oils in the fragrance and cosmetic industries worldwide.
